Project goals
- Develop an intelligent control system that automatically receives signals from sensors, processes and warns early about the risk of flash floods and landslides. The control system includes hardware and software capable of collecting data, processing and warning. The system components are expected to be installed and tested in Hoa Binh province.
- Some technologies integrated in the system: (i) Smart sensors and IoT communication; (ii) Data transmission via wireless network and cloud (google firebase); (iii) Design control circuits from new generation electronic components with high integration density; (iv) Combination of sensor types: rainfall sensor, air and soil humidity, mud flow rate sensor, soil displacement sensor, hydrodynamic pressure sensor, sensor wire and cameras to detect currents and flash floods; (v) Data analysis is processed using machine learning and AI data mining techniques.
Main tasks of the project
Hardware/Software Design for the system; Test installation and product application; Publish articles in prestigious journals.
Project impact
- Bridge the gap between science and the user community through co-design based on the needs of people affected by landslides and flash floods;
- Support local governments and state managers in effectively responding to natural disasters; Contribute to minimizing damage to address the challenges of flash floods and landslides.
