Environmental pollution is a pressing problem for the entire society. It does not only affect human life immediately, but also has a long-term impact on many future generations, so forecasting and pointing out environment strategies are absolutely necessary. The project’s goal is to forecast air and water pollution in Vietnam using the methods of machine learning and inverse problems. Specifically, the project will lay the mathematical basis for machine learning approaches and inverse problems for data-driven models and mathematical models to describe air and water pollution processes. That mathematical basis is the foundation for the project’s practical applications: 1) Air quality forecast based on actual monitoring data with a specific application address (expected in a region of Ho Chi Minh City), 2) Water quality forecast based on actual monitoring data with specific application address (expected in a region of Binh Duong Province), 3) User-friendly software and interface development and applications (apps) on smartphones.
This is a multidisciplinary research project, in which the results of the project have impacts on the development of Science, Technology, Education, socio-economic development and environmental protection in many different aspects.
