This project aims to develop big data and multi-dimensional analysis approaches to identify, predict and warn of the risk of Covid-19 outbreak at the national and provincial levels in Vietnam. The project develops a tool to assess the potential spread of Covid-19 in specific environments and contexts. In addition, the project seeks to establish a mechanism to share, combine and collect multiple data sets on behavior, climate change, emerging threats and vulnerabilities at the individual and system level. The results of this project will contribute to building the capacity of the Vietnam Health System to respond to the CoV-19 pandemic in terms of human resources and evidence-based policy development.
Detailed objectives
- Develop an analytical approach to characterize and predict the transmission, spread and impact of the Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam and the region using machine learning-based algorithms.
- Assess the severity and potential risks of provinces and localities in Vietnam and determine necessary response measures.
- Build big data on multidimensional factors of vulnerability to the Covid-19 epidemic, integrating monitoring, ecological, investigation and rapid assessment data.
- Develop a web-based or application-based National Early Warning System (EpiNEWS) for the Covid-19 epidemic.
- Build capacity in disease modeling and response preparation for the Vietnam Health System in coordination with other sectors.
- Establish a mechanism to consult global, regional and national experts on disease control and modeling to advise the Vietnamese government and people.
