The project aims to build a platform for collecting, storing, managing, and sharing scientific research data nationwide, integrating tools, analytical models, and data processing with a number of case studies. The project was built with the hope of creating a community data platform that allows the community to contribute scientific data as well as exploit and share data. Through the platform, state agencies, private companies and educational, training and research organizations can jointly exploit data sources. The project is an opportunity for scientists to research and apply the latest technologies in information systems and big data. The project aims to connect and develop the scientific community in Vietnam in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and other fields that need IT application. The project will make an important contribution to the Digitalized Vietnamese Knowledge Project as well as the country’s science and technology strategies, including the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence.
Main tasks of the project
Task 1: Survey and evaluate the current state of science and technology research data in Vietnam
Task 2: Survey and evaluate Big Data and Cloud data management architectures
Task 3: Proposed Architecture of science and technology research data management platform
Task 4: Build cloud infrastructure for scientific and technological research data management platform
Task 5: Build a big data management platform
Task 6: Test sharing scientific and technological research data from research groups/organizations
Task 7: Test data usage on the science and technology research data management platform
Task 8: Propose a model to deploy a scientific and technological research data management platform on a national scale
Task 9: Organize workshops to get expert opinions, promote the sharing and use of scientific and technological research data, and train participating units
Project impact
Building a system to exploit and reuse scientific research data brings great efficiency to the scientific community, education and social life, including:
- In the field of science and technology: Building a large data system according to Bigdata architecture to serve scientific and technological research at all levels; Monitor data to issue warnings such as: duplicate data, reference sources… avoid duplicate research causing waste.
- In the field of education and training: The scientific research data system makes it easy to look up, search, share, analyze and evaluate.
- In the field of socio-economic development: The scientific research data system makes it easy to compare and evaluate in-depth about a specific area of life, with the most up-to-date scientific knowledge.
