– The research results have contributed to global understanding of the epidemiological characteristics, virology as well as treatment of Covid-19 disease. Besides, these results have important implications for the decisions of the Government as well as the Ministry of Health in directing the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic.
– Research on culturing, isolating viruses and sequencing the genome of the virus strain that causes Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) discovered in Northern Vietnam contributes to paving the way for further research on Virus characterization, animal testing of infection and immune response. Research products (SARS-CoV-2 virus strain) are important inputs for the production of test kits, drugs and testing of treatment regimens and preventive vaccines. Sequencing the viral genome helps determine the sequence of primers and probes used in diagnostic testing.
– The project has isolated 10 strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19 in Northern Vietnam using realtime RT-PCR technique.
– The project has published 10 whole genome sequences of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19 in Northern Vietnam to Genbank.
– The project published 02 international articles and 01 domestic article.
